Since there is such a high demand for usb hubs in the world we decided to see just which laptop makers were putting more USB 2.0 ports on their computers. When we mention USB 2.0 please understand that every computer only puts USB 2.0 ports on their computers but some people just want to see the number so we write it.

Here is the rundown of laptop computers and the number of USB ports that come with each:

Apple MacBook

2 USB Ports

2 USB Ports

1 USB Port

HP Envy Series

2-3 USB Ports

HP Pavilion Series

3-4 USB Ports

Compaq Presario

3 USB Ports

Lenovo Thinkpad Series

3 USB Ports

Lenovo Ideapad Series

2-3 USB Ports

I looked at Dell’s website to find out how many USB ports each of their laptops have but for some reason they don’t give that information out. You could probably find it if you call them but it seemed like too much trouble.

Conclusion

If laptop is your preference for a computer then you may need to look into getting a 4 port or 7 port USB hub as you will find most laptops come with only 2-4 USB ports. With so many peripherals using the USB technology you are forced to upgrade to more ports. One of the advantages of using a USB hub is that you can plug everything into the hub at home and then when you need the portability of the laptop you just unplug the hub from your computer and go.
